This mixed media collage was inspired first by the bird print and then by the “reeds”, actually dried iris foliage from the garden, which when pressed with an iron became perfect collage material. A combination of fabric, newspaper and vintage journals creates the background. In fact, a line of numerals when turned on its side vaguely suggests additional grasses. The overall effect has a slight oriental feel to it, and is an interesting juxtaposition of “real” and abstract. 16 x 20 in. framed. $225
